Manually Adding Content to Your Collection

Movie Premier for Windows 8 allows you to manually add local and network content to your collection in the event you wish to add individual movies or non-library folders.

NOTE: If you are trying to include media from a NAS, file server, or other device on your network, that device must be accessible for this process to work. Before you attempt the process below, you should be able to navigate to your collection by pasting the address into a file explorer window address bar. If this is unsuccessful the process below will not work and you may want to verify your network settings.

  • Launch Movie Premier for Windows 8
  • Bring up the Charm Bar and select Settings
  • Select Options from the Settings menu
  • Select Folders and Files from the Options menu
  • Scroll down to the Additional video folders to include list
  • Click the Add Folder button
  • Complete the following steps to add local content
    • Click the Files menu and select Computer from the list
    • Navigate to the folder location you wish to add and click Choose this Folder
  • Complete the following steps to add network content
    • Click the Files menu and select Network from the list
    • Navigate to the folder location you wish to add and click Select Folder
    • Enter a UNC path directly into the folder address bar and click Go
    • Navigate to the folder location you wish to add and click Choose this Folder

You can remove folders from the list by selecting the folder you wish to remove in the list and then clicking Remove Folder button.

You should now have your local content accessible via your Windows 8 library. If you have other support questions, please submit them in our user forum.
